No official Montgomery County 24-hour release list exists online. The MCSO incarceration list is the closest public tool, but it shows people currently held at the Montgomery County Jail. It has no released tab, history switch, release date field, or archive. It also gives no update time or stated retention period. A name that vanishes from the roster has stopped appearing as currently incarcerated at the time of the check. That observation alone does not show when the person left or where the person went.
The Sheriff may have completed a community release, a bond release, a transfer, or a record correction. A receiving agency may now hold the person. Data may also lag. - Search Kansas VINE for the county-jail custody result. VINE does not cover people in KDOC prisons.
- Check the Kansas district-court record for a bond order, journal entry, sentence event, or other public filing that explains legal authority for departure.
- If the exact facts remain unclear, request the booking and release sheet from MCSO with the booking number and narrow date span.

Montgomery Release Fields Available

The online page lacks actual release date and time, release reason, disposition, destination, and receiving agency. Ask for those fields in a release record. If MCSO transferred the person to KDOC, the next useful record is KASPER. A federal or ICE handoff requires the receiving system rather than an assumption of community release.
Request Montgomery Release Records
The MCSO forms page directs a requester to print the open-records form, complete it, bring valid identification, and pay the stated $5 report charge. That statement covers providing a report. It does not promise the same fee for a custom release log, booking photograph, extensive search, or added copies. Ask for an itemized estimate before added work begins.
A focused request should identify the full name, date of birth, booking number, arresting agency, and booking date when known. Ask for the actual release date and time, release type or reason, disposition, destination or receiving agency, and booking/release sheet. Request that exempt fields be redacted and the rest released. Under K.S.A. 45-218, the agency must act by the end of the third business day. Montgomery Release or Custody
A person still displayed by MCSO is shown as currently incarcerated in the county system. A person absent from that page is merely not displayed there at that moment. A confirmed bond, own-recognizance, time-served, or court-ordered departure may put the person in the community. A transfer removes the person from the same roster but starts custody elsewhere.

Montgomery County publishes no fixed processing schedule, release door, weekend rule, property-return method, or family waiting area. The official MCSO inmate-information page divides the work instead: jail staff can confirm or deny present custody, while the Sheriff's Office provides bond amounts, release times, charges, and court dates. Logistics should be confirmed by phone for the specific booking.
Do not infer an exit hour from a court order or a bond figure. Staff may still need authority, identity checks, paperwork, property handling, or a receiving-agency handoff. If travel depends on timing, wait for direct confirmation that processing is complete. The public page supplies no general rule that can safely replace that call.

Montgomery Bond Is Not Release
The roster's numeric bond field and MCSO's phone guidance make bond an important same-day clue. Yet a listed amount is not proof of payment or release. It does not show that a bond was accepted, conditions were met, paperwork cleared, or another hold was resolved. The court order explains the authority and terms. The MCSO release sheet confirms the physical event.
A zero, blank, or changed figure also needs context. Charges may carry separate conditions, and another case or custodian may prevent departure. Match the booking number to the court case, then ask MCSO for the completed release time and reason. This avoids turning a financial field into a false departure claim.
Montgomery Roster Removal Limits
The current roster has no historical switch, release field, or stated archive window. That design creates a sharp limit for a 24-hour inquiry. Checking once today cannot reconstruct every entry shown yesterday. Even before-and-after observations only show that display status changed between two times. They do not pinpoint the moment or cause.
Use a two-source rule where practical. Pair an MCSO record, VINE result, or receiving-system entry with a court event, KDOC status, or focused release record. The first source addresses custody. The second supplies legal or supervision context. This is especially important when a transfer looks like a release because both remove a name from the county page.
Montgomery Release Photo Cutoff
MCSO places a booking photograph on each current roster entry, but it publishes no released-photo archive and no official jail or recent-release mobile app was identified. The official photo can therefore be easy to find during custody and unavailable through the roster after removal. Payment, communication, or visitation apps mentioned elsewhere are not official Montgomery County release feeds.
For a released person, ask MCSO for the booking photograph tied to the booking number. If the person entered state custody, KASPER may show a KDOC photograph, but that image belongs to the state record and does not prove the local release event. A registry image applies only to someone with a current statutory registration duty.
